Police have registered a case against the accused, who are yet to be identified. No one was arrested till Wednesday evening at the time of filing this report. The incident was recorded on CCTV and the footage shows three persons, wearing hoodies, entering the dhaba and firing from country-made pistols.According to police, two men in the age group of 25-27 years first reached the dhaba around 9pm. They sat on chairs outside the dhaba and started checking the menu. Around 20 minutes later, a third person arrived and signalled the two to get inside. On entering the dhaba, two of them pulled out pistols. One fired two shots at Krishan, the manager of the dhaba who was sitting at the cash counter. One bullet missed him and hit the wall. Another hit Krishan, passed through his stomach and was stuck in his right hand. Krishan fell on the ground while he was running towards the kitchen. The other people in the dhaba panicked and also started running towards the kitchen. Another accused fired two rounds in the air. Afterwards, the three accused exited the dhaba and fled on two bikes, which they had parked across the road.Police were informed about the incident and the injured manager was taken to Sona Devi Memorial Hospital in Sector 69. Dr Naresh Sharma of the hospital said, “The bullet had stuck in his right hand after passing through his stomach. It was removed in a surgery and he is stable now.”Krishan said that the three men had earlier visited his dhaba in a drunken state on January 9 and started to misbehave with customers. “They thrashed one of our staff when he tried to stop them from creating a scene. They issued threats but we didn’t take it seriously,” he said, adding that police were called to the spot and had taken them away.According to police, the men entered the dhaba as customers and flashed their guns and fired shots to threaten the shop’s employees. Four bullet shells were recovered from the spot. “We rushed to the spot after receiving information and the injured was taken to the hospital,” said police spokesperson Subhash Bokan, adding that a case was registered against the three accused under relevant sections at the Badshapur police station.Earlier on October 16, some goons opened fire inside Om Sweets in Sector 46 while others fired shots inside the Pushpanjali Hospital in Rewari at the exact same time. Initially, the incidents appeared to be failed robbery attempts. However, both were later found to be extortion threats by a dreaded gangster. Later in November, the Special Task Force of Haryana Police arrested two members of Kaushal gang in connection with the two cases. While the gangster is still absconding, his father was accused of managing extortion money and arrested.
