However, he will look into the matter and would reply to the retuning officer within the given time. JIND: Returning officer for Jind bypoll and SDM Virender Sherawat has issued a show cause notice to Chaudhary Ranbir Singh University officials after they reportedly violated model code of conduct.In the notice, Sherawat has stated that stage of the youth festival celebration was misused by the supporters of a candidate contesting the Jind bypoll. He added that the incident took place in the presence of the event organizer.When contacted, Sherawat said some people had raised slogans and sought votes for a particular party on the stage meant for performances during the youth festival on university campus. He added that as the entire incident took place in the presence of the event organizer, they would ask the university to take action against him and in case the varsity authorities failed to do so, the district administration will lodge a police complaint.The university vice-chancellor said singer Alfaj, who is from Punjab, had raised slogans in favour of a candidate, but he was immediately opposed by the organizers and university has the video of the incident.
