GURUGRAM: With the aim of making their village plastic-free, a group of about forty youths in Dhorka village of Sector-92, Gurugram is distributing free cloth bags among shopkeepers and local residents. The group has so far distributed about 600 bags among 100 houses and 16 shops in the village.These youths also make people pledge against the use of polythene bags in future. The youths are also planning to install a cleaning machine and 60 dustbins in the village. | Read this in Hindi "These youths have pledged to make the village polythene-free. About 600 cloth bags have already been distributed among the residents. The youths are planning to distribute more such bags on Sunday. The cost of these bags and other expenditure is shared by these youths. The aim of the campaign is to make the village plastic-free and set an example in the ongoing Swachh Survey-2019," said Ramesh Yadav , a local businessman.Harkesh Yadav, who owns a jeans factory, has allowed these youths to use his machines to stitch the cloth bags. Waste and used clothes are collected from houses in the village and stitched here at Harkesh's factory.
