GURUGRAM: Police have started attaching properties of proclaimed offenders (PO), which was a 2018 year-ender promise, and two properties of wanted criminal Sube Singh have been attached in a first-of-its-kind move.Auction orders for the property have been issued by Sudhir Kumar, the sub divisional magistrate of Pataudi.Sube Singh alias Gujjar is a member of the Kaushal gang with at least Rs 4 lakh reward on his head.On Tuesday, the court authorised the revenue department to hold the auction on February 25 and asked police to submit a report in the matter before March 5. Gurugram police have said that the market value of Sube Singh’s properties is over Rs 5 crore.Police commissioner K K Rao planned the move to attach properties of POs who are absconding so that they may surrender to police. “This move will tighten the noose on the POs who are evading police. Not only will we chase them but now they will be forced to approach police themselves. Besides attaching their properties, the same will be auctioned too. We expect a major impact of the auction of Sube Singh’s properties,” said K K Rao.A resident of Bar Gujjar village where his wife was once the sarpanch, Sube Singh is wanted in over a dozen murder and several attempt to murder and extortion cases. He was looking after Kaushal gang’s extortion business, especially in the Khandsa mandi area, and was booked for demanding money from traders in December 2016. He has been absconding since then and was announced as a PO by the court in February 2018. He tops the wanted list of both Gurugram and Rewari police and they have declared rewards of Rs 2 lakh respectively on his head.On February 11, 2018, Sube Singh allegedly shot dead the Tatarpur village sarpanch, Sanjay when he was on a morning walk and an FIR was registered against him in the case. He is also wanted for the murders of Tejpal alias Anni who was shot dead in January 2018 over some dispute, and revenue department official Satbir in Bawal in July 2017.Around two months ago, an application to attach the property of Sube Singh was submitted by DCP (Manesar) Rajesh Kumar, according to Section 83 of CrPC.
