New drain to end sewage misery in Palam Vihar

While GMDA officials said that it was PWD who was responsible, PWD officials said sewage was overflowing as the master sewage lines were choked.Residents are now hopeful that the issue will be resolved soon. He has assured us that it will be resolved at the earliest,” said Anil, a resident of Palam Vihar’s C-Block. The move comes after residents approached the minister with complaints of sewage overflowing in front of their houses due to construction of the Bajghera railway overbridge.GMDA officials confirmed that they will be laying an additional sewage line in the area.

The move comes after residents approached the minister with complaints of sewage overflowing in front of their houses due to construction of the Bajghera railway overbridge.GMDA officials confirmed that they will be laying an additional sewage line in the area. While the work will be done by the authority, the cost will be borne by PWD.“I have directed officials to ensure that the matter is resolved at the earliest and conduct a survey on February 18 to check the level of sewage line,” said Narbir. GMDA officials said the issue will be resolved by March 31 at the latest.TOI had earlier reported that sewage lines in the area were overflowing so much so that waste water had started seeping into houses. After receiving several complaints, GMDA and PWD had passed the buck on to each other. While GMDA officials said that it was PWD who was responsible, PWD officials said sewage was overflowing as the master sewage lines were choked.Residents are now hopeful that the issue will be resolved soon. “We met the minister on Monday and briefed him on the issue. He has assured us that it will be resolved at the earliest,” said Anil, a resident of Palam Vihar’s C-Block.
