Haryana: Congress MLA among five injured in road accident near Bahadurgarh Toll Plaza

Dr Manjit Singh, an orthopaedician at a hospital, said MLA Nirmal had suffered non-fatal injuries on his chest and stomach, but he was out of danger. Meanwhile, Senior Superintendent of police Mandeep Singh Sidhu also reached the spot to take stock of the situation and later visited the MLA at the hospital. The MLA was admitted to the ortho ward. He said his condition was being monitored and he would be discharged soon.Deputy Superintendent of police Jaswinder Singh Tiwana said the police had initiated proceedings as per the law. PATIALA: Congress MLA from Shutrana Nirmal Singh had a miraculous escape on Monday morning when a Maruti Ritz coming from the opposite direction rammed into his car near Bahadurgarh Toll Plaza on Patiala Chandigarh highway.Five others including the MLAs personal staff were also injured in the mishap.The accident took place at Dhareri Jattan village on Patiala-Chandigarh highway while the legislator was on his way to Chandigarh to attend the budget session. Nirmal Singh fractured his right arm and sustained injuries in his upper body in the crash.According to the police, the driver of the Ritz lost control of the vehicle as one of its tires burst and the car jumped over the divider to cross over to the other lanes and it hit the MLAs vehicle.The injured were immediately rushed to the government Rajindra hospital.
