Six arrested for smuggling cattle to Uttar Pradesh

"SHO Ambala Sadar inspector Rajesh Kumar said, "On Monday, our teams arrested six accused smuggling 69 cattle without any documents and they were presented before the court which has sent them to judicial custody. "In the second case, the district police have booked two accused identified as Mustafa, resident of Gangoh village, Saharanpur district, UP and Shakeel, resident of Shekpura Kadeem, Saharanpur district, UP. He stated, "While checking we found another truck with Punjab registration number plate and recovered 33 cattle stuffed in it. Sultan Singh, DSP, Ambala, said, "Both the vehicles have been recovered as they were caught smuggling cattle on the information given by the Gau Sewa Society which informed the district police about the vehicles.

AMBALA: The district police have registered two separate cases under Section 11 of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (PCA) Act against six accused after recovering 69 cattle being smuggled to Uttar Pradesh from Punjab in two separate trucks in the wee hours on Monday.In the first case registered on the complaint of Ajay Chawla, resident of Lajpat Nagar Ambala city who is said to be the president of Sri Krishna Gau Sewa Society, he said, "On Monday I received a tip-off that some persons are smuggling cattle from Rajpura and acting accordingly, after informing the police, I along with my society members reached Devinagar toll plaza and started checking the suspected vehicles. We spotted a fully loaded truck bearing UP registration number plate and on suspicion, we stopped the truck and while checking found a total of 36 cattle stuffed in the truck."In the first case, the district police have booked four accused identified as Imran, resident of Gangoh village, Saharanpur district , UP, Shamshad, resident of Nanota, Saharanpur district, UP, Sajan, resident of Fatehabad district Tarn Taran, and Harpreet Singh resident of Kacha Pakka village, Tarn Taran district under Section 11 of the PCA Act.The second case is also registered on the complaint of Ajay Chawla. He stated, "While checking we found another truck with Punjab registration number plate and recovered 33 cattle stuffed in it."In the second case, the district police have booked two accused identified as Mustafa, resident of Gangoh village, Saharanpur district, UP and Shakeel, resident of Shekpura Kadeem, Saharanpur district, UP. Further investigation is being done."Complainant Ajay said, "After receiving the information we informed the district police and found two trucks in which cattle were loaded with cruelty. Among 69, three cattle have been found dead and at this moment, the cattle are kept at the police station and they would be sent back to the place from where they have come. The accused were smuggling the cattle for slaughtering in UP."
