Though there are no houses in the vicinity, lot of people park their cars at the nearby market,” said Rajneesh Yadav, a resident of Sector 14.Commuters said that the area under Sikanderpur flyover pillars has become a dumping ground. “The area is jampacked every day in the evening because all office-goers return to metro stations in either cars or rickshaws. “The so-called green area looks like it is covered in dust. And then we ask how Gurgaon is a polluted city.”Commuters told TOI that the area was prone to more concentration of flying dust due to uncleanliness. I have been seeing this ever since I joined work and this doesn’t even cause consternation among authorities.

Gurgaon: Authorities have come under fire from commuters for the huge earth mounds occupying large spaces and designated green areas near Sikanderpur metro station and DLF City Court, which are not only an eyesore, but also pose a health hazard.A spot visit by TOI revealed massive dug-out material lying under the Sikanderpur flyover that goes towards Cyber City. “This has been the case for many months,” said Ashutosh Bhatia, a commuter. “I come from Delhi every day and my office is in CyberHub. I have been seeing this ever since I joined work and this doesn’t even cause consternation among authorities. And then we ask how Gurgaon is a polluted city.”Commuters told TOI that the area was prone to more concentration of flying dust due to uncleanliness. “From the area where furniture is sold to the Sikanderpur roundabout, this stretch is dusty and unclean,” said Atharva Anand, another commuter.“Those coming from Arjan Garh to Gurgaon will have to face this dust if they turn towards Sikanderpur ahead of the flyover. Those who go to Dronacharya metro station in the evening too will face this. Though there are no houses in the vicinity, lot of people park their cars at the nearby market,” said Rajneesh Yadav, a resident of Sector 14.Commuters said that the area under Sikanderpur flyover pillars has become a dumping ground. “The so-called green area looks like it is covered in dust. The patches are unclean. Every day we get to see cows munching on poisonous plastic and wet waste and this is the place that many people start their Gurgaon visit with. There is where the city announces itself,” said Anubha, who travels to the city for work every day from Delhi.People said that the area witnesses heavy traffic during evening hours. “The area is jampacked every day in the evening because all office-goers return to metro stations in either cars or rickshaws. This leads to more diesel emissions. Once they mix with sand or dust particles, they become more dangerous when inhaled. The government must remove this earth mound from the spot,” another commuter said.An MCG official told TOI that there was a huge concentration of construction-and-debris (C&D) waste near Sikanderpur. “It is among the many spots that we have already identified. We are awaiting the mobile C&D recycling units that will treat this on the spot. That will happen soon,” said the official, not wishing to be named.
