Gurgaon: Police have filed a case of murder against two persons on Tuesday, six days after a 23-year-old man was found dead in a guesthouse in Sector 39. Police had earlier said he committed suicide after an argument with his 20-year-old girlfriend.The youth had checked into the guesthouse with his girlfriend a few hours before his death on March 13, and when his family reached there, the girl had fled.Deepak Kumar, a resident of Devi Lal Nagar, worked as a lawyer’s assistant in the city court. According to police, Deepak checked into a third-floor room of the guesthouse, which also provides paying guest accommodation, in Sector 39 around 10am on March 13. Around 6.15pm, the woman called up Tarif, Deepak’s friend, and told him that Deepak was unwell. Tarif, in turn, informed Deepak’s father. As Deepak’s father Subhash was away, he sent his wife, brother and sister-in-law to the guesthouse. They rushed him to Medanta hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.Subhash filed a police complaint, demanding a fair probe into the death the same day. On Sunday, however, he filed a fresh complaint against the woman who was with Deepak at the time of his death and the operator of the guesthouse, accusing them of killing him.“My son didn’t hang himself, but was hung by the accused to make it look like a suicide. He was murdered by his girlfriend and the operator. When my family reached the guesthouse, the woman had fled and she hasn’t contacted us even once after my son’s death. I want strict action against the two accused,” Subhash told police.Meanwhile, the post-mortem report has stated that Deepak died due to suffocation by hanging Police filed an FIR on Monday on the basis of Subhash’s fresh complaint against Deepak’s girlfriend and the guesthouse operator under sections 302 (murder) and 34 (common intention) of the IPC at Sadar police station. “A case has been registered, and we are investigating the matter. Both the accused are absconding, but we are conducting raids to nab them,” said sub-inspector Ramniwas, additional SHO of Sadar police station.
