Toddler in borewell: Hisar farmer booked

HISAR: Hisar police on Monday booked a farmer in the case where a toddler had fallen into open borewell in Balsamand village of Hisar on Wednesday. Nadeem was safely evacuated on March 22 with the help of the district administration, Army and NDRF team and the villagers and is undergoing treatment. He said that Teluram had dug a well on panchayat land near his farm at Bhadra road in Balsamand village. The district authorities are, however, not sure if they would be recovering the cost of the 48-hour long rescue operations to save the child. The case was registered on a complaint filed by ASI Harish Chander.

HISAR: Hisar police on Monday booked a farmer in the case where a toddler had fallen into open borewell in Balsamand village of Hisar on Wednesday. The district authorities are, however, not sure if they would be recovering the cost of the 48-hour long rescue operations to save the child. A joint team of the Army and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) had dug deep to rescue the baby from the 54-feetdeep borewell.The process of calculating the cost of the rescue operation is going and the administration is studying the provisions of recovery in such cases.On Monday, an FIR was registered at Hisar Sadar police station for negligence, public nuisance and endangering life against farmer Teluram, a resident of Balsamand village of Hisar. The case was registered on a complaint filed by ASI Harish Chander. He said that Teluram had dug a well on panchayat land near his farm at Bhadra road in Balsamand village. He removed the pipe from the bore but neither did he fill it up not covered it, the complaint reads.Due to his negligence, one-a-half years old Nadim, son of Azam Khan of the same village, fell into the deep pit on March 20. Nadeem was safely evacuated on March 22 with the help of the district administration, Army and NDRF team and the villagers and is undergoing treatment.
