Forest guard’s mauled body found in Jagadhri

The dogs used to stay on the forest department premises and Ratan often used to feed them with food or milk. The guard had been working with the forest department for a long time. YAMUNANAGAR: A badly mauled body of a contractual guard ( chowkidar ) identified as Ratan Lal (55), a resident of Gobindpura in Jagadhri district, was found on Wednesday morning at his duty spot in the forest department office in Jagadhri.The incident came to notice when the morning shift guard came to join his duty and saw the body of Ratan and informed the district police. During his duty at night, either Ratan got a heart attack or died suddenly due to some unknown reason, following which he fell on the ground.

On receiving the information, the district police reached the spot for inspection and took the body in custody.Jagadhri city SHO inspector Rakesh Kumar said, “We have conducted the proceedings under Section 174 (police to inquire and report on suicide, etc.) of the CrPC. The reason for the death of Ratan is not known yet and it will be revealed after report of the post-mortem exam is received.
