GURUGRAM: Choked sewage lines, scarcity of water and illegal dumping of construction and demolition (C&D) waste on vacant plots have left the residents of Sector 21 fuming.According to the residents, MCG addresses their complaints but the solutions are only temporary. “Most of our sewer lines are currently choked. Last week, sewage was seen overflowing on the sector roads, we informed the MCG officials, who came and drained out the sewage but this is only a stopgap measure. As the lines are choked, the overflowing of sewage takes place in every few days. We need a permanent solution to the problem,” said Sashi Pal, the RWA president of Sector 21.Residents claimed that choking in the sewage lines occurs as it also caters to the nearby Dundahera village from where garbage, along with polythene bags, flows into the sector.Water crisis is also a regular issue in the sector. “The water pipeline that caters to the area is also damaged in some parts due to which residents do not receive clean water,” the RWA president said. The other issue troubling the resident is dumping of C&D waste on vacant plots near the Sector 21 market. “The C&D waste is dumped here nearly everyday, resulting in a lot of dust pollution,” said Avinash, a resident of the sector.MCG officials, however, said they will fix the sewage lines in a couple of days and will also look into the other issues highlighted by residents.
