GURGAON: A 27-year-old man has been booked in for sexually exploiting his 22-year-old cousin for past five years.The Sector 51 women's police station filed an FIR against the man, from Manipur, who lives with his wife, daughter and the cousin sister at a rented house in the city.According to the police, the woman had gone to live with her maternal aunt in Odisha after the death of her parents in 2012. The accused, son of her aunt, who had moved to Gurgaon after he got married, used to visit his mother in Odisha once in a while.The woman alleged in her complaint he raped her on several occasions during such visits since 2012. Later, the man brought her to Gurgaon, promising to enrol her for a beautician's course. Instead, he started exploiting her more frequently.After years of torture and abuse, the girl finally lodged a complaint with the North East Support Centre and Helpline (NESCH) in Delhi on January 4.Acting on the complaint, NESCH media in-charge Bruce K Thangkhal approached DCP (East) Deepak Saharan, the nodal officer for Northeast. Subsequently, an FIR was registered against the accused under Sections 376 (rape), 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC on Tuesday."An FIR has been filed against the accused, who is reportedly staying in Odisha right now. After the medical examination, her statement was recorded in a city court," said Saharan.
