GURUGRAM: Wednesday showers made the situation in Sector 15 (Part I) worse, as most of the internal roads in the area were flooded with water. A shortage of drinking water also continued to irk residents."While we have been facing waterlogging for the last seven days, the situation became worse on Wednesday. Most roads are waterlogged," said Jasmeet Walia , a resident."There is water all over the streets, but not in our taps. It is the fifth day that we haven't got a drop of water. We are entirely dependent on private water tankers for the supply. It costs us a lot," said Ramesh Vashisht , a member of the RWA, Sector 15 (Part I).For last one week, residents have been complaining of waterlogging and shortage of drinking water due to leakage in a pipeline. Some residents alleged that the MCG staff has expressed inability to address the issue immediately. "We have filed several complaints with the MCG, but our complaints have fallen on deaf ears. While some officials said the problem has been resolved, yesterday a junior staffer told me it will take at least two weeks to fix the leakage. Which means residents have to suffer for at least two more weeks. Shouldn't MCG make an alternate arrangement for drinking water supply to the area?" said another resident, requesting anonymity. However, an official from the MCG claimed that the issue has been addressed. "There is no leakage in the pipeline any more. It has been fixed. Only a few houses are facing shortage. We are looking into the matter," said an MCG official.Reportedly, the leakage in the pipeline started after a broadband company laid its underground wiring network in the area.
