Gurgaon’s Fortis has charged the whooping amount to a family of a 7 years-old dengue patient for keeping the patient 15 days in the ICU.  The health ministry has decided to look into allegations that Gurugram-based Fortis Memorial Research Instituteovercharged the family of a seven-year-old dengue patient admitted there for a fortnight.

When state governments, including the Centre are making efforts to make medical treatment of seasonal disease- Chikungunya and Dengue affordable, a shocking news came from Gurgaon where in a family is asked for Rs 16 lakh despite the patient could not survive.

Gurgaon’s Fortis has charged the whooping amount to a family of a 7 years-old dengue patient for keeping the patient 15 days in the ICU. A friend of victim-family has tweeted: "One of my batchmate`s 7 year old was in @fortis hospital for 15 days for dengue.

Billed Rs 18 lakhs including for 2700 gloves. She passed away at the end of it. Corrupt a*******," he wrote. ?

Taking a note to the incident, Union Health Minister J P Nadda assured the bereaved family of action in the matter.
