Crime branch to probe SHO fake passport case

While defence counsel Shyamveer Yadav claimed that the investigation had been transferred to the state crime branch, the prosecution counsel claimed that the file was yet to be shifted. GURUGRAM: The efficiency of the Gurgaon police has again been challenged as it has been asked to hand over the SHO fake passport case to the state crime branch.In October, SHO Anil Kumar had been suspended and booked on charges of forgery and cheating for allegedly faking his date of birth in his passport apparently to participate in an international judo championship around 15 years ago. He had won a medal in the event, which had eventually helped him get a job first in ITBP and then in Haryana police under sports quota. However, the court then extended Anil's interim bail till December 22. "I got the orders to shift the case to the crime branch on Wednesday, though I have no information on the reason of the shift," Khirwar told reporters when asked about the transfer of the case.Meanwhile, the bail plea of Anil Kumar was heard by sessions judge SK Sharma on Wednesday.
