'To work in Assam, learn its languages'

"Anyone who does not know the official languages of the state will not be allowed to work. Let people brand us radicals or extremists, we will not compromise on our stand," Sabha president Paramananda Rajbongshi told TOI. We say this because we want to teach them our languages. GUWAHATI: Assam 's apex cultural and literary organization Asam Sahitya Sabha on Sunday said anyone who does not know the official languages of the state would not be allowed to work in the state in both the public and private sectors.The Sabha warned that if the government is unable to ensure this is implemented, it would do so "on its own".
