Nagaon mill workers turn to President Ram Nath Kovind for help

As an interim relief to the employees, the Centre released three months' salaries on the occasion of Rongali Bihu in April this year. The Cachar unit stopped production in 2015 while the Nagaon mill shut down last year, leaving about 1,500 employees with an uncertain future. We are in dire straits since we haven't received our salaries for months. "Banks and insurance companies are regularly serving us notices to clear their dues and interests. Revival of the two public sector paper mills was one of the promises made by BJP in the run up to the assembly election in 2016.
