GUWAHATI: Combined Competitive Examination (CCE), 2016, topper Maria Tanim , who has been selected for Assam Civil Service (ACS) junior grade, has said perseverance has made all the difference for her. jubilant Maria said there is no shortcut to success and one should give his or her 100 per cent to achieve success. A total of 95 candidates have been declared eligible for appointment in ACS (junior grade) posts.Three candidates got selected for posting in Assam Police Service (junior grade) cadre posts with Anup Jyoti Borah securing the first position. Another 12 candidates were recommended by the APSC for the post of excise inspector. Barenya Ranjan Barthakur has topped in the Assam Land & Revenue Service, said an APSC statement.

The results of the examination were declared late on Friday.“It’s like a dream come true. I prepared for the exam with utmost honesty and perseverance. I attended the mock tests and was regular with my studies. My self-beleif, dedication and hard work paid off,” said Maria, while addressing a group of ACS and UPSC aspirants at the ERD Foundation here on Saturday. jubilant Maria said there is no shortcut to success and one should give his or her 100 per cent to achieve success. “I want to serve the state as per government rules with utmost integrity and honesty,” she added. Daughter of Kutub Uddin Barbhuya and Ismtara Barbhuya, Maria hails from Hailakandi in the Barak Valley Maria, who vowed to will judiciously render her services as an ACS officer, said she wants to crack the UPSC in future.While Maria secured the first position, Munmi Saikia and Nirmal Jyoti Sarmah secured the second and third respectively positions in the ACS grouping. Barenya Ranjan Barthakur has topped in the Assam Land & Revenue Service, said an APSC statement. A total of 95 candidates have been declared eligible for appointment in ACS (junior grade) posts.Three candidates got selected for posting in Assam Police Service (junior grade) cadre posts with Anup Jyoti Borah securing the first position. Altogether 60 candidates have been recommended for appointment to Assam Land & Revenue Service (junior grade), three for labour officer’s post and two others for the post of tax superintendent.Five candidates have been selected for appointment as assistant registrar of cooperative societies, six as inspector of labour and eight as inspector of taxes. Another 12 candidates were recommended by the APSC for the post of excise inspector. Ten others have been selected as assistant employment officers.
