The exams will begin with the English paper on Thursday and conclude on March 6.In a bid to stop students from adopting unfair means and stop potential paper leaks, CCTV cameras have been installed in all 857 examination centres. “From this year, we have made it compulsory to install CCTV cameras across all 857 examination centres in the state. If any examination centre fails to install functioning CCTV cameras, Seba will terminate the contract of such centres from next year,” said Seba chairman RC Jain.He added that as per instructions from the state government, Section 144 of the CrPC has been promulgated within 50-meter radius of all the examination centres. Police pickets will be set up outside the centres and flying squads will be deployed to monitor activities. As potential paper leaks through WhatsApp messages remains a worry for Seba, Jain has asked teachers and exam officials to not carry their mobile phones in “sensitive areas” of the exam centres, like confidential rooms where question papers are sorted. Students are not allowed to carry mobile phones, smart watches, calculators or other digital devices. If candidates want to leave within two hours after commencement of the exam, they will have to hand over their questions paper to the invigilators. This step has been taken to prevent the question paper from being circulated outside while the examination is on.
