With high expectations, the two regional offices of the state board were opened in Jorhat and Silchar in 2015 and 2016 respectively in the presence of ministers and senior bureaucrats. But Seba authorities said the decision taken at the highest level within the board to withdraw the two centres would be recompensed.“From March 1 itself, it has been decided to make the regional committees of Seba functional in each district of Assam. Moreover, the committees have been entrusted with the task of assisting students and guardians, as and when they apply for acquiring photocopy or for reevaluation of answersscripts, after declaration of the board results. However, Seba said they are going ahead with the plans to resolve the problems faced by the board examinees at the district level.“Though we have decided to withdraw the offices from March 1, simultaneously, from the same date, the three-member regional committees of Seba, headed by inspectors of schools, will become functional in the districts. This would provide services to all Seba-affiliated schools and citizens.
