Himanta Biswa Sarma not to contest Lok Sabha polls: Assam BJP chief

GUWAHATI: Making a U-turn, Assam BJP president Ranjeet Kumar Dass said on Monday that state finance minister Himanta Biswa Sarma 's name has been dropped from the list of probable party candidates who will contest the Lok Sabha elections from Assam. "The central leaders, including our president Amit Shah, informed us that Himanta has to look after all 25 parliamentary seats across the region as he is the convener of the North East Democratic Alliance (Neda).
