Staff ReporterGUWAHATI: The heavy downpour in Guwahati on Friday evening has left a layer of red soil on many stretches of GS Road in Guwahati. However, no one from the GMC (Guwahati Municipal Corporation) has cleared the road of the layer of clay. The man who is engaged in some sort of spade work to clear road of the layer of mud is a person working in a parking lot near Walford on GS Road. However, what about other such stretches on GS Road? Will the GMC get the work done or is it just waiting for another heavy shower to make the situation worse?

Staff Reporter GUWAHATI: The heavy downpour in Guwahati on Friday evening has left a layer of red soil on many stretches of GS Road in Guwahati. However, no one from the GMC (Guwahati Municipal Corporation) has cleared the road of the layer of clay. With the layer of clay getting dried under the scorching sun on Saturday and Sunday, and crushed under the heavy plying of vehicles, dust particles are seen in a number of areas on the road. When the civic body responsible for clearing the road of the layer of red soil look the other way, how can those who have to work on the road and by its side day in, day out sit idle? The man who is engaged in some sort of spade work to clear road of the layer of mud is a person working in a parking lot near Walford on GS Road. He is clearing the road as he has to face trouble while working there. However, what about other such stretches on GS Road? Will the GMC get the work done or is it just waiting for another heavy shower to make the situation worse?
