5 Missing Madrassa Boys rescued at Guwahati Railway Station

Guwahati: In a major breakthrough, Railway Protection Force (RPF) on Monday under the supervision of Sub Inspector M Ekka along with Assistant Sub Inspector AK Nath, Constable YS K Singh and Railway Childline Guwahati members Akhil Das and Hrishikesh Das rescued five minor boys from platform number 1 at Guwahati Railway Station. 1 of Guwahati Railway Station in distress condition. Hence, the 5 (Five) rescued minor boys are forwarded to Dy. SM/Commercial/GHY to hand over the same to Railway Childline, Guwahati for their safe custody. In May 2013, Ahmedabad Childline rescued 16 children aged between 14 and 17 years working various parts of the city.

Guwahati: In a major breakthrough, Railway Protection Force (RPF) on Monday under the supervision of Sub Inspector M Ekka along with Assistant Sub Inspector AK Nath, Constable YS K Singh and Railway Childline Guwahati members Akhil Das and Hrishikesh Das rescued five minor boys from platform number 1 at Guwahati Railway Station. In course of the drive at around 5.30 pm, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) noticed 5 minor boys were moving PF/No. 1 of Guwahati Railway Station in distress condition. On spot interrogation, the boys disclosed their names and address as – Habibur Rahman (16) son of Mohammad Omar Ali of the village – Bogoritola, Police station- Kasuwa, District-Nagaon, Assam. Imran Hussain (13) son of Mohammad Abul Hussain of Uzanmari village of Kasuwa Police Station, District- Nagaon, Assam. Ashiqul Islam (13) son of Md. Saidul Rahman, Village-Simalguri, Police Station-Kasuwa, District-Nagaon, Assam. Nur Alam (13) son of Md. Abdul Kalam, Village- Uzanmari, Police Station- Kasuwa, Dist-Nagaon, Assam. Ariful Islam (11) son of Abdul Kasem at Jagiroad under Police Station- Jagiroad in Assam. On further interrogation, they stated that they ran away from Bhakatgaon Madyatak Hafiza Madrasa without any intimation to their guardian. Thereafter, the rescued minor boys are brought to RPF/POST/GHY. Hence, the 5 (Five) rescued minor boys are forwarded to Dy. SM/Commercial/GHY to hand over the same to Railway Childline, Guwahati for their safe custody. Childline India is a project of the Ministry of Women and Child Development. Childline India Foundation is a non-government organisation (NGO) in India that operates a telephone helpline called Childline, for children in distress. It was Indias first 24-hour, toll-free, phone outreach service for children. It is based in Worli, Mumbai. Childline was first established as an experimental project in June 1996, by Jeroo Billimoria, a professor at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai at the department of Family and Child Welfare. Subsequently, Government of India, established the Childline across India in 1998-99, under Ministry of Women and Child Development, as an umbrella organization to support and monitor services across India, while also serving as a link between the ministry and various NGOs working the field. The Secretary of the Ministry functions as the chairperson of the Governing Board of the Foundation. In April 2013, a Childline Advisory Board in the West Garo Hills district of Meghalaya state, as a part of a joint programme by Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment and ChildLine India.
