Northeast s Biggest Fashion Show EIFW From November 1

STAFF REPORTERGUWAHATI: FNDC – Northeast India & Design Council is a registered society of Northeast India and is a non-profit independent association of fashion designers formed to propagate the business of fashion in India in September 2013. To provide a launch-pad to the Gen Next and emerging designers, FNDC launched East India Fashion Week (EIFW) in January last year. Season 2 of EIFW saw a footfall of 3000 crowd in two days of non-stop fashion where 30 fashion designers from eastern India, Delhi, Surat and Bangalore displayed their creations. National stylist Lakme Fashion Week fame Nishankh Sainani, Mumbai was the official stylist, the Runway Director of Lakme Fashion Week mentor Neeraj Gaba did the choreography. STAFF REPORTER GUWAHATI: FNDC – Northeast India & Design Council is a registered society of Northeast India and is a non-profit independent association of fashion designers formed to propagate the business of fashion in India in September 2013. The council has been effectively formed to direct and promote the abundance of fashion talent in the Northeast, handloom and handicraft promotions, provide guidance and education to budding youngsters who are looking to carve themselves a career in fashion and promote the Northeastern designers as fashion ambassadors in the national and international arena. FNDC has completed six years of its inception this month. Since the past six years, FNDC has organized fashion shows in Bangkok, Las Vegas, Dubai, New Delhi and Mumbai, and promoted 32 designers from Assam and Northeast India. To provide a launch-pad to the Gen Next and emerging designers, FNDC launched East India Fashion Week (EIFW) in January last year. For the first time in the history of Northeast India Fashion Industry, FNDC hosted a proper fashion week with 26 regional and national designers, national buyers, 65 local and national models in a two day celebration in Guwahati. Season 2 of EIFW saw a footfall of 3000 crowd in two days of non-stop fashion where 30 fashion designers from eastern India, Delhi, Surat and Bangalore displayed their creations. Two national buyers were present on both days. National stylist Lakme Fashion Week fame Nishankh Sainani, Mumbai was the official stylist, the Runway Director of Lakme Fashion Week mentor Neeraj Gaba did the choreography. FNDC organized a press conference recently to announce the Season 3 of EIFW on November 1 and 2, 2019. This season, 25 to 30 designers from Kolkata, Bhubaneshwar, Assam and other states of Northeast India will participate in the two day fashion extravaganza. Medha Saikia, the founder and president of FNDC and Meghna Mehzabin, the newly elected secretary of the council, quoted jointly the motive of launching the fashion week, which is to provide a launch-pad to the Gen Next and emerging designers of this region.
