Infighting in Congress Staff Reporter GUWAHATI: The infighting in the Congress in Assam is growing worse with CLP (Congress Legislature Party) leader Debabrata Saikia dashing a letter to the party high command as his reply to the allegations brought against him by 12 MLAs of the party. According to sources, 12 Congress MLAs of the State sent a letter to the party high command seeking replacement of Debabrata Saikia from the post of Leader of Opposition due to his poor performance on the floor of the Assembly. Sources also said that some Congress MLAs went to New Delhi to meet the party high command, but failed to get any appointment. They, however, handed over their signed petition addressed to the party high command to AICC (All India Congress Committee) general secretary Harish Rawat. Countering the allegations of his alleged failure on the floor of the Assembly, Saikia spelt it out in his letter to the party high command that he distributes the workload of various departments among his fellow party MLAs in writing as and when the Assam Legislative Assembly is in session. He also said in his letter that for him the letter by the 12 party MLAs to the high command against him was news from the media.
