Kamrup M District Administration observed Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Week

GUWAHATI: On the occasion of National Girl Child Day, the District Administration and District Social Welfare Office, Kamrup (M) are celebrating the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Week from January 20 to 26 in the district. As a part of the activities of the week, the National Girl Child Day was celebrated on Friday in Srimanata Sankardev International Auditorium in Khanapara. Minister, Social Welfare and Soil Conservation Pramila Rani Brahma started the programme by lighting of the lamp. Around 1200 people including teachers and students from various schools and colleges, Anganwadi workers, supervisors were present at the programme. The aim of the campaign was to create awareness, sensitize people and engage communities across the district. As a part of the activities of the week, the National Girl Child Day was celebrated on Friday in Srimanata Sankardev International Auditorium in Khanapara. Minister, Social Welfare and Soil Conservation Pramila Rani Brahma started the programme by lighting of the lamp. Around 1200 people including teachers and students from various schools and colleges, Anganwadi workers, supervisors were present at the programme. Three newborn girls and their parents, girl toppers in HSLC and HSSLC exam in 2019 of government schools and women achievers in different field such as sports, education, business and entrepreneur, social work etc of the district were felicitated by the dignitaries present at the programme.
