Guwahati may not host IPL matches this year Rajasthan High Court to deliver judgement on Feb 20

Guwahati: Uncertainty looms over Indian Premier League (IPL) T20 match in Guwahati's Barsapara Cricket Stadium as three petitioners filed a PIL at the Jaipur Bench of the Rajasthan High Court. Notably, the court is set to deliver its judgement on February 20, 2020. The Rajasthan Royals requested for a change of home from Ahmedabad to Guwahati. As per a media report, Rajasthan Royals had earlier requested for a change of home from Ahmedabad to Guwahati. The Rajasthan High Court on coming Thursday is expected to give the judgement on the PIL that has challenged the decision of Royals to shift a couple of venues to Guwahati for the 2020 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

The Rajasthan High Court on coming Thursday is expected to give the judgement on the PIL that has challenged the decision of Royals to shift a couple of venues to Guwahati for the 2020 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The petitioners also claimed that shifting of matches outside Jaipur “would be disrespectful to the state”. Meanwhile, the BCCI has backed the Royals and stated that they have not broken any rules, thus, requesting a second home venue.
