Deepsikha Foundation gears up to observe Pritir Enajori at ITA Machkhowa

Staff ReporterGUWAHATI: Deepsikha Foundation, a non-profit voluntary organization that works for cancer patients through conjoined efforts, is all set to hold a concert for Cancer Care as 'Preetir Enajori'. Deepsikha Foundation, in collaboration with Apollo Hospital, SBI and SBI Life will hold the concert at ITA Machkhowa on February 22 sharp at 6 pm. Zerifa Wahid said, “The event has been organized specially to cheer up the cancer patients and to make people aware of the fact that determination and early detection can enable anyone to fight cancer. Besides the concert, a walk against Tobacco and Cancer will be organized on February 23 as the Deepsikha's Vijay. Deepsikha Foundation, in collaboration with Apollo Hospital, SBI and SBI Life will hold the concert at ITA Machkhowa on February 22 sharp at 6 pm. It will be followed by another programme as Deepsikhas Vijay on February 23. Addressing a press conference at Guwahati Press Club on Wednesday, Secretary of Deepsikha Dr. Mrinmoyee Baruah and brand ambassador Zerifa Wahid formally announced the event that is aimed at raising funds for cancer patients and to generate awareness about cancer. The event will feature one of the noted bands of Bollywood Indie Routes. Zerifa Wahid said, “The event has been organized specially to cheer up the cancer patients and to make people aware of the fact that determination and early detection can enable anyone to fight cancer. Besides the concert, a walk against Tobacco and Cancer will be organized on February 23 as the Deepsikhas Vijay. The walk is proposed to start from B. Barooah College at 8 in the morning and will end at the Nehru Stadium.” Besides the other members of Deepsikha, Trustee Devahuti Sarmah was also present in the press meet. It is to be mentioned that Deepsikha also expressed their interest in conducting awareness and screening camps especially for the welfare of women community so as to create awareness of diseases like breast cancer.
