Defer targets of various schemes says All India Professionals Congress Assam

GUWAHATI: The All India Professionals' Congress (AIPC), Assam on Monday urged the Government to reschedule the targets of various schemes which are scheduled to be completed in March. India is passing through a very crucial phase right now which is evident from the lockouts called by almost 100 cities and around 15 states in the country. The country is caught with this epidemic in the crucial month of March, when the entire country closes its business year. Similar relaxation must be given for April as well or till such month upto which the situation becomes normal. GUWAHATI: The All India Professionals Congress (AIPC), Assam on Monday urged the Government to reschedule the targets of various schemes which are scheduled to be completed in March. India is passing through a very crucial phase right now which is evident from the lockouts called by almost 100 cities and around 15 states in the country. The country is caught with this epidemic in the crucial month of March, when the entire country closes its business year. In a press release, the All India Professionals Congress stated that GSTR 3B return filing date which falls due on 20th, 22nd and 24th March (different dates for different states) must be deferred upto April 30 for the month of March. Similar relaxation must be given for April as well or till such month upto which the situation becomes normal. Along with that the GST Portal must not block any GST dealers from generation of e-way bill for non submission of return from December 2019 onwards till the situation comes under some control. Ideally it should be so designed now that e way bills do not get blocked till 30.04.2020. This holds particularly relevant for essential commodities dealers of, food stuff, medicines and logistical services. The last date for submission of delayed income tax return for A Y 19-20 also falls on 31st March 2020, which must also be extended to 30th April 2020 as an immediate measure. Similarly, the last date of revising the field income tax returns for A Y 19-20 also falls due on 31st March must be extended by at least a month. The Government must consider all payments related to tax savings and important March planning payouts like Life insurance premiums, PPF deposits, NSCs and similar such payments paid even after 31st March but before 30th April to be eligible for tax benefits. All other statutory payouts like TDS, GST, PF, ESI payments must be suitably accommodated in subsequent month and considered as having been deposited in time for acts and purposes.
