Nationwide lockdown NHPC to airlift medical materials for Manipur from New Delhi

GUWAHATI: Keeping in view the 21 days countrywide lockdown to fight COVID-19, NHPC Limited has arranged airlifting 2.6 metric tonnes of medical materials to Manipur from New Delhi on Saturday. AK Singh, Chairman and Managing Director NHPC said, “NHPC is fully committed to stand with the nation in this moment of crisis and has already earmarked Rs 4.5 crore to fight the COVID-19 pandemic in the country. “The timely supply of medical material is most crucial and therefore we have aided the airlifting of medical material to Imphal which is remotely located and difficult to reach by road.” On receipt of request from the State government,NHPC has arranged to airlift the cargo. The 2.6 metric tonnes of medical materials included sanitizers, thermal scanners, masks etc., stated a press release.
