Assam, Tripura, Mizoram, Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh are among 14 states and Union Territories in better state of Covid 19 cases testing.

These states responded better than other states to Covid-19 pandemic with higher tests per million and commensurate positivity rate lower than the national average.

Ministry said that "As India rides the wave of very high testing, 14 states and union territories have demonstrated better Covid response with higher Tests Per Million (TPM) and commensurate lower positivity rate than the national average.
National cumulative positivity rate is 8.52% and the test per million stands at 48028 on Tuesday. Country testing capacity have surged more to 12lakh test daily".

Ministry said India’s testing capacity has surged to more than 12 lakh daily tests. Higher than 6.6 crore total tests have been conducted across the country. A high level of testing leads to early identification of positive cases. As evidence has revealed eventually positivity rate will fall. According to the ministry’s statement, 1,085 deaths have been registered in the past 24 hours and 10 states and Union Territories account for 83%. of the deaths in the last 24 hours due to Covid.
