Crime Branch of Guwahati Police arrested 10 people linked to the Sub Inspector (SI) exam paper leak

Crime Branch of Guwahati Police had arrested 10 people linked to the Sub Inspector (SI) exam paper leak. While four arrests have been made by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), six persons have been nabbed by Nalbari Police.

Crime Branch of Guwahati Police had arrested 10 people linked to the Sub Inspector (SI) exam paper leak.  As per reports, over 19 people have so far been arrested regarding the matter. While four arrests have been made by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), six persons have been caught by Nalbari Police.

The four accused persons arrested by CID are Hirakjyoti Baruah from Mailoo Bazar, Kheroni, West Karbi Anglong; Rupam Deka, from Balowa, Belsor Police Station, Nalbari district; Rituraj Bora, from Narayanpur, Lakhimpur and Joydip Borooah from Chandmari, Guwahati.

Assam Police also declared a monetary reward of Rs 1,00,000 each for anyone who provides information about the present location or whereabouts of absconding accused Prashant Kr Dutta, DIG (Retd) and Diban Deka.

Earlier, CID raided the residence of ex-DIG of Assam Police. Raids was carried out in connection with the leakage of question paper of written test for sub-inspectors in Assam Police ahead of the commencement of the examination. But CID could not detain the former Assam Police officer because  he escaped along with his family members before the CID can caught him.

The written test got leaked  through social media it was scheduled  on September 20, and had to be cancelled  before the examination. CID wing of Assam Police questioned Assam BJP leader Diban Deka for his involvement in the leakage of question paper.
