Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) had forwarded a complaint to the civil aviation ministry for “necessary action” on the accusations surfacing against Adani Enterprises of the possibility of making windfall profit in the leasing of six airports, including Guwahati airport.
Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) had forwarded a complaint to the civil aviation ministry for “necessary action” on the accusations surfacing against Adani Enterprises of the possibility of making windfall profit in the leasing of six airports, including Guwahati airport.
CVC acted on a complaint by the CPI (M) Rajya Sabha member, Elamaram Kareem, who accused Adani of getting the opportunity of earning windfall profits through taking on lease the six airports from Airport Authority of India (AAI) recently.
On September 4, Kareem had written to Chief Vigilance Commissioner, Sanjay Kothari, seeking an enquiry into the deal that hands over the Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Lucknow, Guwahati, Thiruvananthapuram and Manguluru airports, which he claimed was paving the way for the Adanis to "earn windfall profit from the vast assets and businesses" of AAI across six states.
Additional Secretary of Central Vigilance Commission, Sudhir Kumar said that the "complaint along with its enclosures are forwarded" to the Chief Vigilance Officer of the Ministry of Civil Aviation for "necessary action."
