A video went viral on social media in which EVM machines are allegedly seen in the car of Patharkandi BJP candidate Krishnenedu Paul. Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra raised questions on EVM management of EC.
The EVM was found in an unclaimed Bolero, hours after the second phase of voting in Assam ended on Thursday. A video went viral on social media, in which EVM machines are allegedly seen in the car of Patharkandi BJP candidate Krishnenedu Paul.
The Election Commission has summoned a full-fledged report from the District Election Officer on the issue of getting EVMs in an unclaimed car in Karimganj, Assam.
Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has demanded revaluation of EVMs from all political parties.
Political tension has increased in the area since the EVMs were received. EVMs have been found in a Bolero car in Kanisail town of Karimganj district; no passenger was seen in or around the car.
Initial investigation has revealed that the Bolero car belongs to the BJP candidate Krishnendu Pal of Patharkandi constituency. The District Election Officers reached the spot immediately on receiving complaints by the public; they do not found any polling officer or any Election Commission employee in or around the car, neither did any representative of the car arrived.
