Three more ministers quit NPF

The development has stepped up pressure on Liezietsu to step down.Of those who have resigned, 10 parliamentary secretaries were dropped by Liezietsu on July 9. In addition, 10 Naga People's Front (NPF) MLAs -including four ministers -were suspended from the party .The resignation letters, however, were dated July 9 but sent to media houses on Wednesday night. The supporters of dissident leader TR Zeliang are still camping at a resort in Assam 's Kaziranga, demanding a change of leadership. KOHIMA: Uncertainty prevailed over the political situation in Nagaland with loyalists of chief minister Shurhozelie Liezietsu continuing to claim the political crisis in the state will end soon, even as three ministers, three advisers, one chairman and 20 parliamentary secretaries resigned late on Wednesday night. With governor PB Acharya still in New Delhi, the situation is unlikely to be resolved soon.NPF spokesperson and minister of school education Yitachu on Thursday defiantly continued with the stance that the chief minister enjoys the confidence of 58 MLAs -47 from NPF, four from BJP and seven Independents.
