Belagavi: Belagavi got its first bus service exclusively for women on Wednesday. The North Western Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (NWKRTC) has launched the service from Vadgao to Sulebhavi via City Bus terminus (CBT). If we get a good response, more women’s special buses will be started on other They called upon women to utilize the service and help in reducing air pollution . The service is aimed at providing women safer and comfortable journey. It is expected to cater to a large number of women devotees who visit Goddess Laxmi Temple in Sulebhavi in large numbers every day.Inspector general of police (northern range) Alok Kumar and DCP (law and order) Seema Latkar launched the new bus service during the monthly “Bus Day” programme. They called upon women to utilize the service and help in reducing air pollution . Nitin Hegde, divisional controller, NWKRTC, said, “We have chosen this route because there is potential.
