Exhibition showcases rare photos of late PM Vajpayee

Vajpayee had visited Hubballi to campaign for elections in 1983 and 1994.“It’s good to see old photographs of A B Vajpayee. This exhibition is a great way of showing respect to the great soul,” said Raghavendra Ramadurg, a former corporator and artist. With a tagline ‘Matte Hutti Ba’, this exhibition will continue till September 24.The foundation has tried to explain Vajpayee’s lifestyle, his poems, political happenings of his career and incidents through the exhibition.

Hubballi: Dr Gangubai Hangal Music Foundation, which celebrates Ganesha festival in a unique way every year, has this time dedicated the celebrations to former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee who passed away recently.More than 300 rare pictures of Vajpayee are on display in Ganga Lahari , the residence of late Dr Gangubai Hangal. With a tagline ‘Matte Hutti Ba’, this exhibition will continue till September 24.The foundation has tried to explain Vajpayee’s lifestyle, his poems, political happenings of his career and incidents through the exhibition. More than 100 people are visiting the place every day to have a glipse at Vajpayee’s life.Foundation president Manoj Hangal said, “Every year we install a Ganesha idol with different themes. Last year, we had decorated the pandal with musical instruments. This year, we have organized this exhibition of rare photos.“The main attraction of this exhibition is a photo of Vajpayee’s visit to Hubballi. We had appealed for rare photos of Vajpayee and 42 pictures were donated to the foundation,” added Hangal.The photos are displayed in three rooms of Ganga Lahari. Vajpayee had visited Hubballi to campaign for elections in 1983 and 1994.“It’s good to see old photographs of A B Vajpayee. He has inspired many and he never discriminated anyone.
