Don’t allow Black Day, Kannada forums to CM

This time, Kannada organisations are putting pressure on chief minister HD Kumaraswamy not to permit the event.Complaint given to DCOn Monday, Karnataka Rakshana Vedike (Narayana Gowda faction) protested here and submitted a memorandum to deputy commissioner SB Bommanhalli asking him deny permission for the event. It said MES is an unregistered political organisation keeping the issue of language alive for political mileage in assembly and city corporation elections by appealing to Marathi-speaking people.The memorandum said after losing all assembly seats in the recent elections, the MES has literally lost its base and is now stooping to any level. There are also chances of using it the opportunity to cause disharmony in the city, it added.Members of various Kannada organisations led by Deepak Gudaganatti held a torchlight protest on Sunday night at Channamma Circle here and demanded action against the organisers of the Black Day event.MES leaders stumpedAmid this, MES senior leaders Deepak Dalavi, Maloji Ashtekar, former MLA Manohar Kinekar, ZP member Saraswati Patil met Bommanhalli on Monday and sought permission for Black Day. The DC suggested the leaders participate in Kannada Rajyotsava, taking the MES leaders by surprise.
