Increase awareness of Constitution: Judge

Hubballi: The Indian Constitution is one of the best in the world and there is a need to create awareness among people about it, said district judge and industrial tribunal chairman Shivaji Anant Nalavade. Another judge K N Gangadhar said legal awareness should start from home itself.“If one follows the constitution, our nation will be automatically developed,” he added. “Though it is one’s duty to understand it, many educated people are ignorant about it,” he said.Judge Kiran Gangannavar said the Indian Constitution was formed with broad values and retaining these values should be our priority. Advocate B D Hegade said that the constitution draft committee consisted of over 120 advocates who had thorough legal knowledge.Resource person Vishwanath Bichagatti, principal family court judge Sumangala Basavannur, public prosecutor D A Bandekar, Saroja Hosamani and others were present at the programme. He spoke after inaugurating a Constitution Day programme organized by the Taluk Legal Services Committee, prosecution department, Bar Association and information and public relations department here on Monday.Nalavade said the Constitution is the mother of all laws formed in the interest of every citizen of the nation.
