New Dharwad court complex will be opened tomorrow

DHARWAD: The city has one more red brick building in the form of the District Court Complex. Karnataka High Court Chief Justice Dinesh Maheshwari, who has been elevated to the apex court, will preside over. The ground, first and second floors have five court halls each. Justices Ravi Malimath and L Narayanaswamy will be the special guests on the occasion.The invitation card states that chief minister H D Kumarswamy and deputy chief minister Dr G Parameshwara will be present. The first and second floors have well-equipped ante-chambers for the judges, a library and toilets.

DHARWAD: The city has one more red brick building in the form of the District Court Complex. The new building, which looks similar to Attara Kacheri, which houses the Karnataka High Court, has been constructed after demolishing the century-old dilapidated building at the court complex behind Kadapa Maidan.Supreme Court Judge Mohan Shantanagoudar, who started his practice as a lawyer in these premises, will inaugurate the first and second floor of the new complex at 10.30am on Saturday. A programme will be held at the nearby Kala Bhavan after the formal inauguration . Karnataka High Court Chief Justice Dinesh Maheshwari, who has been elevated to the apex court, will preside over. Justices Ravi Malimath and L Narayanaswamy will be the special guests on the occasion.The invitation card states that chief minister H D Kumarswamy and deputy chief minister Dr G Parameshwara will be present. District minister R V Deshpande, minister for municipal administration C S Shivalli and legislators from the district will be special invitees.The first and second floors have been fitted with modern facilities and measure 3,688.11sqm each. The ground, first and second floors have five court halls each. The first and second floors have well-equipped ante-chambers for the judges, a library and toilets. The second floor has separate rooms for public prosecutors and government pleaders besides separate toilets for gents and ladies.The building has three elevators, one exclusively for judges. Each elevator can carry 15 people.
