MLA Prasad Abbayya not invited Cong accuses BJP of violating protocol

Hubballi: The district Congress unit staged a black flag protest at Ambedkar Circle on Sunday to condemn the BJP’s decision to not invite the local MLA Prasad Abbayya to preside over the launch function of several developmental work. Abbayya said that he will move a privilege motion against the BJP for violating the protocol.Police took some Congress workers into preventive custody at Ambedkar Circle for trying to proceed towards KC Circle to stage a protest.The Congress demanded that the BJP expel B S Yeddyurappa from the party for conducting Operation Lotus through corrupt means to topple the coalition government. It said that the BJP is trying to take credit for the projects initiated by the Congress, pointing out that it was Siddaramaiah who allotted 500 acres of land for IIT in Dharwad during his tenure.The party said that the BJP wanted an IIT in Raichur, but Congress mounted pressure on the Centre to sanction the premier institution to Dharwad.
