Congress to name LS candidates by Mar 10

Hubballi / Haveri: The list of candidates for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections will be finalised by March 10, said KPCC working president Eshwar Khandre . “We have already requested the party high command to release the candidates list as soon as possible,” he added.Khandre told reporters on Saturday that they were expecting candidates to be announced for nearly 20 constituencies on or before March 10. Zameer told reporters in Haveri that the venue of the convention was yet to be fixed and will dbe decided after a discussiion with KPCC chief Dinesh Gundu Rao. “KPCC’s election committee will meet on February 18 after which the screening committee and central committee will take call on the list. The conventions will be completed in all districts before March 10,”said Khandre.Congress leaders, office bearers and party workers were present at the press conference.

The government is anti-people, anti-farmers and anti-youths. It has not done anything for them. It made many assurances and failed to keep them,” he alleged.Khandre added that during the NDU’s tenure under Modi , youths became jobless due to demonetization. “Many industries have downed their shutters while many important independent agencies have to struggle to survive,” he said.RaGa to address rally in HaveriFood and Civil Supplies minister Zameer Ahmed Khan said Congress will hold a mega convention of Haveri and Dharwad parliamentary constituency in Haveri on March 4 and AICC president Rahul Gandhi will attend it. Zameer told reporters in Haveri that the venue of the convention was yet to be fixed and will dbe decided after a discussiion with KPCC chief Dinesh Gundu Rao. The minister clarified that CM H D Kumaraswamy and irrigation minister D K Shivakumar have agreed to sanction Rs 212 crore to fill Anuru tank in Byadagi taluk. The government will release Rs 5 crore for the Haveri Government Medical College, he said.District-level conventions“Congress will convene conventions in all districts starting from Raichur on February 23. The conventions will be completed in all districts before March 10,”said Khandre.Congress leaders, office bearers and party workers were present at the press conference.
