Chicken bone stuck in Karnataka man’s throat taken out after 3 days

We decided to remove the bone piece after taking an x-ray. Finally, an x-ray revealed that a chicken bone, almost three inches long, had got stuck in the throat.Doctors at Malladad Rudramma Memorial Hospital decided to do endoscopy and removed the bone piece in a twohour procedure.“Berappa was struggling to breathe when he was admitted to hospital. Finally, it was taken out through endoscopy,” said Dr Ravikumar Malladad. HAVERI: A three-inch-long chicken bone that got stuck in the throat of a 27-year-old man for almost three days was removed by doctors using a non-invasive procedure in Haveri on Sunday.The man, Berappa Mantappanavar, a resident of Sangur village, had choked while eating chicken and subsequently developed breathlessness.He visited a hospital and told doctors that he felt something was stuck in the throat. Though he received preliminary treatment, his condition did not improve.
