Dharwad: Left hand stuck under a refrigerator and the other underneath a huge quantity of cement material, Savitha Arade suffered the ordeal for 12 long hours. The only thing rescue personnel did in those 12 hours was console her. The rescue team meticulously removed the debris over her. Wife of watchman at the commercial complex which collapsed in Dharwad on Tuesday, the 45-year-old woman sustained severe injuries.“I literally cried for help for 12 hours. The rescue team was trying its best to remove the material, but they were able to bring me out around 4.30am,” she said.Savitha could have narrowly missed the tragedy, but fate had something else in store for her. “I purchased a milk packet from one of the shops and wore sandals to go out. I had hardly covered a few steps when the building collapsed and I was under the debris,” she recalled.Savitha and her husband have been residing in the building for the past four years.
