Holi Milan, Womenia add colour to celebrations in Belagavi

This year specialty of the Holi Milan programme was Lavani dance from the dancers from Kolhapur.At Pangul Galli, thousands of people devotees performed Urulu Seve in the premises of Ashwathama temple. Belagavi: The Holi Milan and Womenia programmes organized by the MLAs Abhay Patil and Laxmi Hebbalkar respectively in city as a part of Holi celebration added more colours to the festival in Belagavi city on Thursday.Thousands of young boys and girls participated in both events and danced on the Kannada, Marathi and Hindi movie songs. Besides, mufti police and volunteers amid the dancing youth at the spot kept watch to prevent ant untoward incidents. Splashing of dry and water colours arranged at both events.

Holi Milan arranged at Lele Maidan while Womenia at the premises of Belgaum Club.Abhay Patil has been successfully organizing Holi Milan since past 10 years for both men and women completely free while Hebbalkar had organized Womenia for the third time, exclusively for women with meagre fee, which will be donated to the Soldiers’ Fund.Huge security arrangements made at both events including checking at the entry point and CCTV cameras at every nook and corner. Besides, mufti police and volunteers amid the dancing youth at the spot kept watch to prevent ant untoward incidents. Said to be that, it’s a sole Ashwathama temple in the country and it’s a belief that wishes of the people are fulfilled on performing of Urulu Seve here on the second day of Kama Dahana.
