240 journalists in Hubballli get Covid19 vaccination

Chitaguppi Hospital medical officers Shridhar Dandappanavar and Prakash Naragund were in charge of the drive. Medical staff Asha Yadalli, Kavya Goravanagol, Praveen SM, Mallikarjun NM, Pavithra S, and Shweta administered the vaccination.

Soon after declaring journalists frontline workers, the Karnataka government had decided to inoculate members of the Fourth Estate on a priority basis. Following this, Deputy Commissioner of Dharwad Nitesh Patil organized a vaccination drive for journalists at the Press Club in Hubballi on Tuesday.

As many as 196 journalists in the 18-45 age group and 44 of those aged above 45 received the Covishield doses, developed by Oxford University-AstraZeneca. Those vaccinated included electronic media reporters, video journalists, print media reporters, sub-editors, photojournalists, and Information Department staff. In all, 240 journalists received the jabs.
