The 11th district-level Kannada Sahitya Sammelan will be held at the Kannada Sahitya Bhavan here from Saturday. A release by the Kannada Sahitya Parishat (KSP) district president Lingaraj Angadi stated that senior poet V.C. Airsang will preside over the conference and senior writer Basavaraj Sabarad will inaugurate the event. Veteran journalist Patil Puttappa will preside over the valedictory ceremony and senior writer Malati Pattenshetti will deliver the valedictory address, the release said.
The 11th district-level Kannada Sahitya Sammelan will be held at the Kannada Sahitya Bhavan here from Saturday.
A release by the Kannada Sahitya Parishat (KSP) district president Lingaraj Angadi stated that senior poet V.C. Airsang will preside over the conference and senior writer Basavaraj Sabarad will inaugurate the event.
Senior poet Siddhalinga Pattenshetti will preside over the inaugural ceremony.
Writer Shantinath Dibbad will be delivering the key-note address, while social thinker Rajendra Chenni will deliver a special talk.
Prior to this programme, Minister in charge of the district Vinay Kulkarni will inaugurate the new Sahitya Bhavan building and Pralhad Joshi, MP, will lay the foundation stone for construction of open-air theatre, the release said. During the first session, talk and discussion on the Vachana literature, media and literature, social media will be held.
This will be followed by discussion on children’s literature and textbook syllabus.
A talk on folk literature will be held and this will be followed by cultural programme wherein folk songs and dance will be held.
On Sunday, S.S. Chikmath will inaugurate the poet’s meet and Ashok Shettar will preside over it.
Rangaraj Vanadurg will deliver key-note address.
A total of 25 poets will be rendering poems. Mr. Airsang will also recite some of his poems on this occasion.
Besides, a session on women literature, ‘resources and its utilisation’ will also be held.
