Bagalkot youth missing in Germany remains untraced

"Anish Deshpande, Manjunath's friend, who first realised that Manjunath was missing, has filed a missing complaint with German police. They said Manjunath has been missing and he did not attend classes on Monday. "Manjunath's mother Mahananda Churi said, "I'll request our government to trace my son. "Bagalkot SP C B Rishwant said, "We're in constant touch with the German authorities. We were informed that German police found some letters in his room but we don't know the contents.

HUBBALLI: The family of Manjunath Siddanna Churi , who has been missing since Sunday in Germany , are desperately waiting to hear some news about him.But, there are no clues yet and German police are said to have stepped up their search operations to trace him, said sources. Manjunath Churi, 27, from Seemikeri village of Bagalkot district, had completed his high school in Bilagi and did his diploma in Electronic & Communication and BE (E&C) at BVV Sangha 's Basaveshwar Engineering College , Bagalkot.He was selected during campus interviews and worked in a software company in Bengaluru for two years.His ambition to pursue a Master's degree in Germany and he got selected for the course in Hamburg University , Germany in 2015.His uncle Mallikarjun Domnal, said, "As Manjunath was brilliant at studies, he was selected for a scholarship to study in Germany. He went there in September 2015. He is the only son and has two sisters. His mother is completely shattered on hearing that he's missing."He added, "He has been talking to his mother every day. He visited home when his father died in an accident in November 2016 and stayed for ten days. Earlier, he had come for his sister's marriage. He left Bagalkot on December, 12, 2016. Since then, he has not not visited, but has been in contact over the phone. He last called us on June 18. When we did not get a call for the next two days, we panicked and tried to contact his friends."He said, "To our shock, we got a call from the Indian embassy on Monday evening. They said Manjunath has been missing and he did not attend classes on Monday. We hope that German police find him soon."Manjunath's mother Mahananda Churi said, "I'll request our government to trace my son. We're worried about his safety. We hope he is safe and will be traced soon."Bagalkot SP C B Rishwant said, "We're in constant touch with the German authorities.
