HUBBALLI: JD(S) supremo H D Deve Gowda will hold a meeting of office-bearers of the party's various cells, booth committees and workers at Chauhan Garden here on August 23, said Navalgund MLA N K Konaraddi.Konaraddi told reporters here on Sunday that Deve Gowda has been visiting various parts of the state to strengthen the party. Deve Gowda will interact with the party workers of Dharwad district, said Konaraddi. Party state working president and MLC Basavaraj Horatti and other leaders will take part. Konaraddi also said that the party workers will launch a series of agitations against the Centre and state governments. "Central schemes like Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, underground drainage schemes for town municipal councils and town panchayats have been stopped. The party workers will demand the relaunch of the schemes. The Centre has also not paid various pensions for the past many months," he said.The MLA alleged that the BJP leaders are doing nothing to resolve the Mahadayi issue. "Before the all-party meeting, the Centre filed an affidavit in the Supreme Court which was against the state. However, in the all-party meeting, the BJP leaders promised to speak to the Goa government and Centre. This shows that the BJP leaders are not serious about the issue," he said.
